Sauna sessions provide not only relaxation and recreation but also numerous health benefits, whether it's detoxification, immune boosting, or improving the condition of our skin. In our article, we have collected the most frequently asked questions and provided detailed answers to help you navigate the possibilities that saunas offer. If you are curious about how to choose the best solution, or would like to learn more about sauna use, continue reading as we detail the advantages of different types of saunas, their applications, and the scientific findings related to them.
A four-in-one sauna provides four different sauna services on a single square meter: Himalayan salt cabin, infraredcabin, Finnish sauna, and steam sauna. This saves both space and money.
The gentle heat of the infrared sauna allows for daily use. During a half-hour infrared sauna session, you can burn up to 300 calories, as the body works by sweating and boosting circulation, as if you were rowing or running. This not only results in fluid loss but can also lead to weight loss.
The deep heat of the infrared sauna dilates blood vessels, bringing relief to muscles and tissues. The increased circulation enhances the removal of toxins, contributing to faster healing. The rise in temperature creates an artificial fever state, stimulating the immune system, and the detoxification through sweating further enhances resilience.
Sweating helps remove toxins, such as heavy metals and chemicals. The heat of the infrared sauna penetrates deeply, thereby more effectively reducing cellulite, which many beauty salons utilize. Additionally, infrared treatment alleviates joint pains, muscle cramps, and other musculoskeletal complaints, which are particularly common in older age.
The deep warmth of the infrared sauna cabin raises the body's temperature, inducing an artificial fever. As the body's immune system fights to overcome this (perceived) fever, it strengthens. Moreover, the intense sweating and removal of toxins and waste products from the body greatly enhance your health and resistance to diseases.
If taking medications, consult with your doctor as some medications can affect the body's heat dissipation capacity. Sauna use is not recommended after consuming alcohol, as alcohol increases heart rate, which the sauna can further enhance. In case of implants, consult a doctor, although generally, they do not heat up due to infrared rays. Silicone implants are not damaged by the sauna, but medical consultation is recommended.
The abundant sweat, which appears within a few minutes in the infrared sauna cabin, contains deeply embedded pollutants and dead skin cells. The accelerated circulation brings out the skin’s natural nutrients, facilitating the healing of acne, rashes, burns, cuts: open wounds heal faster and leave smaller scars.
If you are taking prescription medications, consult with your doctor regarding potential changes in their effects due to the infrared waves and increased body temperature. Some medications can impair the body’s heat dissipation and processing capabilities.
Contrary to popular belief, it is not advisable to "sweat out" a hangover. Being under the influence of alcohol reduces our judgment, so we are less likely to notice if the increased heat adversely affects us. Alcohol also raises the heart rate, which the sauna can further intensify.
Those with hemophilia are advised to avoid using the infrared sauna.
It is not advisable to use any sauna when feverish.
Expectant mothers should seek their doctor's advice before using ANY sauna, as in some cases, the higher body temperature can harm the fetus.
Infrared sauna use during "heavy days" can temporarily intensify menstruation. Some intentionally induce this effect to reduce pain associated with the cycle, while others simply avoid sauna use on those days.
Metal legs, arms, artificial joints, or any other surgical implants generally reflect infrared waves, so this system does not heat them. Nevertheless, it is advisable to seek your doctor's opinion regarding infrared sauna use.
If you feel pain near an implant, do not continue using the infrared sauna. The implanted silicone or silicone-based ear/nose prostheses are heated by infrared rays. Since silicone starts to melt above 200 degrees Celsius, it is presumably not adversely affected by the infrared sauna. As always, it is advisable to seek the opinion of the doctor and the manufacturer.
